I see many blogs I follow and my followers who follow vegan and vegetarian diets and I obviously follow a very DIFFERENT approach but sometimes I ask myself these simple questions to help others understand why I chose this approach.
Why would I NOT eat things that God put on the Earth for me to…
I’m all for “clean eating” I support that, but I don’t think this is a fair analysis of veg vs. paleo diets. (1) Hunter gatherer diets were almost completely vegetarian. (2) high levels of animal protein are linked to cancer… see also the China Study. (3) most scientists still struggle to agree on the extent to which our DNA has changed since the paleolithic era. (4) while it is hard to prove or disprove that we have had time to genetically adapt to agrarian lifestyles its clear that several genetic adaptations have taken place since then, namely lactose tolerance n certain regions (I’m not blessed with that adaptation) (5) Finally I think environmental, ethical, and spiritual considerations are often as important as any health benefits. If eating meat or animal products conflicts with these, then who cares how much weight you lose? You will be miserable. Good health should include mental, spiritual, and physical balance.
